Keep Austin Beautiful Day 2024 at Gracywoods Park

Saturday, April 20th, 2024 from 9:00am to 11:00am (CT)

Each April, in honor of Earth Month, Keep Austin Beautiful hosts Keep Austin Beautiful Day, a city-wide day of service spanning over one hundred sites in all ten city council districts in the greater Austin area.

During Keep Austin Beautiful Day, thousands of volunteers work together to remove litter, restore native habitats, and beautify neighborhoods. On Saturday, April 20, join us in caring for the beloved green spaces and waterways that make Austin so special.

Accessibility: This event is partially accessible to all attendees -  this event will take place along a trail, so sidewalks are not guaranteed. This event is okay for youth, but parental supervision is recommended at all times.

What to bring: Closed toe shoes, a FULL water bottle, snack, sunscreen, and comfortable clothing. We will provide all tools and neoprene gloves - if you have your own gardening or work gloves or galoshes, you are invited to bring them. Where to park: You will be able to park in the lot by Northern Walnut Trail Creek Access 2.Where we will begin:  We will meet near near Northern Walnut Trail Creek Access 2; look for the organizer with the supplies.

A NOTE ON SAFETY: With all of our volunteer events, we encourage you to “See and Be Seen!” Be mindful of your fellow volunteers and maintain awareness of your surroundings at all times. Dial 911 in case of emergency.

Good morning, everyone! My name is Aaron, and I'll be your site leader for this event. I'm excited to work with you in fulfilling KAB's vision for Austin to be the cleanest, most beautiful community. Together, we can beautify Austin by cleaning Gracywoods Park. Rest assured that your volunteer efforts will leave a positive impact on all those who enjoy (including all the critters) the space Gracywoods Park has to offer. It's our time to give back and take care of it.

Take care, and I'll see you on Saturday!

Hello everyone - We are excited to see you all for KAB Day on April 20th! This group will be led by students and staff at the ACC Northridge Campus, but we welcome all to join us. As a heads up, the parking in this area will be TIGHT. Please plan to arrive early to ensure that you are able to find a spot and join us before we go through some safety reminders and distribute supplies. As far as I'm aware, this park does not have a restroom facility nearby or place to fill water bottles. Please come prepared for the weather with adequate water for the morning.

For ACC participants, you may consider parking at the edge of the ACC Northridge Campus Parking Lot C and walking over to the site (approx. 1/2 mile).

I look forward to seeing you all there!

Hi Amber! My work team is interested in volunteering as a group for this site. Should each individual register? Or is it better if I provide a tally of the total number we anticipate having?

Hi Paloma- How many are with your group?

Thank you for the timely response! We're still working to nail down numbers but we hope to rally anywhere between 10-20 people.

Paloma- Can you send me an email separate from the comments? I have a few questions/ideas. Thanks!
