Join Keep Austin Beautiful in helping to mitigate litter and debris buildup and removing invasive species along Walnut Creek and its trails to the West along Walnut Creek Park Rd! 

We will meet at the Picnic Shelter, look for a red Keep Austin Beautiful Cart - this code can be entered into Google Maps: C828+R6 Austin, Texas

Keep Austin Beautiful will provide cleanup supplies on-site.

We will be taking all safety precautions available to address pandemic concerns - though this is an outdoor event, we encourage social distancing.

Wondering if you should register to volunteer? Based on the CDC guidelines, we are asking you the following questions:
  1. Have you been exposed to someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19? See the CDC’s risk assessment guidance.

  2. Do you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19? Symptoms can include a cough or shortness of breath or at least two of the following: Fever, Chills, Repeated shaking with chills, Muscle pain, Headache, Sore throat, New loss of taste or smell. See the CDC’s symptom information.

Hey, you beasts of the woods, Gustavo asked me to estimate the number of trees uprooted. Obviously I couldn’t count every one, but based on a couple of typical piles and extrapolation for the littlest saplings, I’d say 125 glossy privet (Ligustrum lucidum) is a reasonable estimate. We also uprooted two Chinese pistache (Pistacia chinensis). Oh, and we scattered about 750 mountain laurel seeds (Dermatophyllum secundiflorum) to supplement the native seed bank.
